Repairs to drum magnet

We’ve just finished repairing a large 1.5 metre drum magnet for a long-standing client. It sustained significant damage due to impact.

The drum magnet was carefully removed from site and transported to our workshop, where our specialist team carried out a full assessment as part of our industrial magnet restoration process. Loose magnets were removed, and the internal foundation was thoroughly cleaned and prepared. The magnets were then securely refixed and resin-filled to improve durability, strength, and long-term reliability.

Once repairs were completed, the drum magnet was fully reassembled and transported back to site for refitting, restoring the unit to safe and efficient working order. This project forms part of our wider expertise in conveyor drum repairs, supporting critical equipment used in demanding industrial environments.

A drum magnet is a vital piece of equipment for metal processing plants. It works by using a magnetic core to attract ferrous metals to a cylindrical shell. As the shell rotates, it moves ferrous materials out of the magnetic field and onto a separate conveyor.

After passing over the drum magnet and removing ferrous contaminants, the remaining non-ferrous material continues through further processing stages, where it can be separated into its core elements.
